A Look Inside Fiat

A look inside Fiat from the eyes of our super summer intern, Cooper:

Hi!  My name is Cooper Hitt and I am about to start my Senior year at Bethel University majoring in Business and Finance. Working at Fiat Wealth Management has been a great experience for me…this is my second internship (Fall of 2020 was my first one). What I have enjoyed most about this internship is the camaraderie with the other employees and their willingness to help me learn about everything. This was not just a 9 to 5 internship, it was a very inclusive experience which gave me the opportunity to learn about many different aspects of wealth management and the operating process of a financial business.

The experiences I’ve had at Fiat have helped me to have more in-depth discussions in my finance classes and have more meaningful conversations with my individual finance professors. I have been able to develop strong relationships with several of my professors due to my added knowledge of the industry through my Fiat experience. The opportunity to be part of this firm was amazing. As I explained to my friends and classmates what I was doing at Fiat, they all wanted to know where they could sign up for this internship!

I have learned so much from working at Fiat! When I started back in the Fall of 2020, I was a little nervous because it was my first internship, I was the first Fiat intern and I had no experience in the industry. All I can say is that Andrew, Brad, Matt, Danny, Daniel, Scott, Juan, Jen, Courtney, and Ashley have gone above and beyond what was expected of them and went the extra mile in teaching me about the industry and what I needed to know in order to do my tasks at Fiat. I had the pleasure of working with all the employees at Fiat and I have learned different things from each one.

One of the first things I noticed at Fiat is that their most important goal for each of their clients is to help them better understand their own individual financial plan (investments, retirement accounts, etc). In addition, Fiat takes the time, with each client, to discuss their future wants and desires, so that they can develop a strategy to achieve their goals in life. Their first mission and goal is to do what’s best for the client through education and application.

In closing, I have appreciated the time and effort Fiat has invested in me and I have learned a great deal about this industry and look forward to continuing to develop the relationships  I have made!
